This course is a lab-based study of local ecosystems, including aquatics, soils, plants and wildlife. Students will research, observe, and collect data in order to draw conclusions on the health of these local systems. The class will be outdoors regularly in order to observe and collect data. This course will also explore the numerous and varied ways in which humans can produce energy and products that are viable, yet not harmful to the environment. Students will research , build, and test a variety of solar, wind, and other systems that represent available and potential methods for generating the resources needed to meet current and future needs while lessening our impact on the environment.
